GENERAL MANAGER
General Description of the Position

The General Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of Industrial Gas Namibia. The role oversees gas production, transportation, supply chain and distribution operations, customer service standards, financial performance, safety and regulatory compliance, and people development to ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all business functions
  • Ensure uninterrupted, safe, and compliant supply of industrial and specialty gases nationwide
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
  • Drive operational efficiency across production, logistics, inventory, and distribution networks
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, safety, environmental, and company standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop management and operational teams to build a high-performance culture
  • Strengthen customer relationships, service standards, pricing execution, and market competitiveness
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Represent IGN with key stakeholders, regulators, suppliers, and strategic partners

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the industrial gas, manufacturing, energy, or related industry
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Sage Pastel is an advantage
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
